Trip description
From the car park to the viewing platform
We start at the car park and follow the signs towards the lake. Through an accessible pedestrian subway with a gradient of approx. 8% we reach the viewing platform at Lake Carezza. However, the pedestrian subway has a lot to offer: Besides the history and mythology of the Latemar Forest, the works present the material wood with all its advantages. An oversized wooden xylophone is also installed in the centre of the subway. Just outside the exit, a light installation projects rainbow colours onto the floor.
When you come out of the subway, you immediately reach the viewing platform. It is also easily accessible by wheelchair. The last section of the path has solid earth material and gravel. The viewing platform offers a magnificent view of the lake and is framed by an interesting information board.
Counter-clockwise around the lake
We go back a little towards the subway and then turn left. We walk around Lake Carezza counter-clockwise along the marked circular route. This direction is therefore so important because a more tricky place comes right at the beginning: Here the trail is a bit narrower and there are some larger stones in the path. However, with a 70 cm wide wheelchair, you can easily get through the narrower parts and the 10% gradient is also easy to master. Afterwards, the path leads around the lake with a change of gradients & ascents of 5 – 10% and lands directly in front of the subway again. From time to time, you will find individual benches and viewing platforms for resting.
Trail conditions
Mostly flat, wide hiking trail with fine gravel and earth. At the beginning of the circular route (anti-clockwise walk) single stones and somewhat narrower.

Explanation
If you follow the trail in an anti-clockwise direction, the path is easy to follow except for a steeper gradient of about 10% at the beginning of the tour. For narrower places at the beginning or for the alternating up and down of the path, however, an accompanying person can provide good support.
